MINISTER J.BAT-ERDENE MEETS HIGH-REPRESENTATIVE IN CHARGE OF LANDLOCKED DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Road and Transport Development J.Bat-Erdene received High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States Fekitamoeloa Katoa Utoikamanu.
Ms. Fekitamoeloa Utoikamanu noted that Transportation is one of the key issues for landlocked countries, expressing gratitude to the Government of Mongolia for firmly promoting the establishment of International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries and cooperating. She also mentioned that the UN together with World Trade Organization commences Trade Facilitation Agreement targeted to improve operations of customs and border points and a project on developing the coordination of Economic Corridors, requesting Ministry of Road and Transport Development to cooperate on these projects.
Minister of Road and Transport Development J.Bat-Erdene expressed gratitude to the United Nations for supporting landlocked developing countries, and introduced the policies and activities of the Government of Mongolia and the Ministry of Road and Transport Development in transportation sector. He also expressed the Ministry's readiness to cooperate and exchange experience under the current projects, programs and policies in air, rail, road, and sea transport, expressing hope in further expansion of the bilateral cooperation.
