Minju Joson Accuses U.S. of Escalating Tensions in Northeast Asia

Pyongyang, July 20 (KCNA) -- The deployment of THAAD in south Korea decided by the U.S. at a time when it is bringing its strategic assets one after another to Northeast Asia is a risky and reckless military move driving the regional situation into an uncontrollable catastrophe, says Minju Joson Wednesday in a commentary. The commentary goes on: The U.S. has raised the DPRK's "military threat' and "nuclear and missile threat" as a justification for its policy of arms buildup but this is just a sheer lie. Now that the U.S. is resorting to a grave military adventure to destroy and neutralize the strategic force of the DPRK after pinpointing it as a primary target, it can never remain a passive onlooker to it. Massive nuclear strike means have already been introduced into the Korean peninsula and its vicinity. There is no doubt that these forces will be hurled into Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military drills to be soon launched by the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces to get familiar with the operation for a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK. Under the prevailing grave situation that dark clouds of a nuclear war are being brought to the Korean peninsula, the DPRK cannot but take tough physical countermeasures to defend the sovereignty, dignity and peace of the country. If the U.S. finally ignites a nuclear war against the Korean nation despite the repeated warnings served by the DPRK, the DPRK will surely push the aggressors and provokers into a grave of doom by mounting the most merciless and bitterest preemptive nuclear strike on them. -0-
