Minju Joson Slams S. Korean Military Warmongers' Arms Buildup

Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- The south Korean military warmongers decided to introduce various types of ultra-modern military hardware including spy satellite under the pretext of "coping with nuclear and ballistic missile threats" from someone at the 110th meeting of the defence promotion committee some days ago. In its wake, a new-type landing ship was also put into commission. A commentary of Minju Joson Monday describes the south Korean military warmongers' arms buildup as a traitorous act of pursuing the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK and a serious military provocation to the DPRK. The south Korean military's act of spurring the racket for arms buildup is a crime of chilling the compatriots' desire for reconciliation, unity and reunification, which should be taken issue, the commentary notes, and goes on: Outward smile while carrying dagger would never help settle anything. The fellow countrymen have seen more than once that valuable agreement reached between the north and the south might become a dead document overnight if it is not supported by the true willingness to promote national reconciliation and unity. However, the south Korean military does not seem to bother to repeat the serious lesson taught by the checkered north-south relations. How can this be interpreted. The south Korean military has to face up to the situation and immediately stop the reckless arms buildup racket though belatedly, if it does not want to face the nation's curse and rejection. -0-
