Mohammed bin Rashid, Brazil's VP discuss bilateral ties, witness signing of defence agreement

Brasilia: Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met yesterday at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Michel Temer, Vice-President of Brazil, in attendance of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister. The UAE Vice-President and his Brazilian counterpart exchanged talks over ways of enhancing ties of friendship and cooperation, particularly in areas investment, tourism, culture and other key sectors that contribute to narrowing distance between the two friendly peoples. Sheikh Mohammed and Mr. Temer also witnessed a ceremony for signing a joint military cooperation under which the UAE and Brazil will exchange joint expertise and training and other areas and activities of joint defence cooperation. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed signed the agreement on behalf of the UAE while Brazil's Defence Minister Celso Amorim signed for his country. The signing ceremony was attended by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State, and a number of UAE and Brazilian officials. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
