Mohsen Mirdamadi was barred from nuclear meetings: Iranian MP

TEHRAN,July 20(MNA) – Alaeddin Boroujerdi, chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee at the Iranian parliament, says his former counterpart Mohsen Mirdamadi was barred from attending nuclear meetings. Mirdamadi, a reformist, was chairman of the parliamentary committee from 2000-2004. In a televised interview on Friday, Boroujerdi said the then chief of Supreme National Security Council Hassan Rouhani had asked President Mohammad Khatami not to allow Mirdamadi to attend nuclear meetings. According to Boroujerdi, Mirdamadi used to leak the issues discussed at the nuclear meetings to political circles. Mirdamadi is currently serving the remainder of his six-year sentence in prison for the incidents in the aftermath of 2009 presidential elections.
