Moldova’s Day of Independence marked in Baku

Baku, September 19 (AzerTAc). Moldova’s Embassy in Azerbaijan hosted a reception marking the 23rd anniversary of state independence of the country. Addressing the event, Moldovan ambassador to Azerbaijan Igor Bodiu provided an insight into the history of Moldova. The Ambassador said a strong legal base has been created for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Moldova, adding there was greater potential for successful development of relations in the fields of economy and energy. The diplomat said Moldova as a suffering country from separatism supports settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the territorial integrity and inviolability of borders and norms and principles of international law. Azerbaijan`s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Salim Muslumov on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the Moldovan people. “Azerbaijan fully supports territorial integrity of Moldova,” said the minister. He highlighted close relations between the two countries, adding stressing there is larger potential for boosting cooperation in economic field. The event brought together State and Governmental officials, MPs, representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan.
