MONGOLIA AND CHINA CONSULAR MEETING HELD IN BEIJING

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and China held the 19th consular meeting in Beijing on June 13. The parties discussed further promotion of consular relations in mid and long terms, integrating mechanisms of consular meeting between Ministries of Foreign Affairs and consultative meeting between the Ministries of Justice of Mongolia and China, cooperation in prevention of crime, specifically anti-theft, internet fraud, drug-related crimes and consular protection. The sides also exchanged views on the establishment of a Consulate of Mongolia in Shanghai and Manzhouli. At the meeting, the sides agreed to intensify and make progress in implementation of the agreements between the Governments of Mongolia and China on Transfer of Sentenced Persons and Legal assistance in civil and criminal cases. In addition, the parties agreed to discuss pressing issues and take measures in the field of protecting the rights of citizens. Within the frameworks of the consular meeting Mongolian representatives are to meet with the authorities of the Ministry of Justice, Supreme People’s Court, Supreme People's Procuratorate, Narcotics Control Commission at the Ministry of Public Security and Immigration Department of China. The first Consular meeting between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and China was held in 1994 and the 20th Consular meeting will be held in Ulaanbaatar in 2019. B.Misheel
