Mongolia and China run first meeting of codifying bilateral contracts

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) held their first meeting for codifying agreements which have been made since 1949 when the countries established the diplomatic relations. At the meeting, the sides underlined that established contracts and agreements are the legal basis for the bilateral relations, and then discussed validity issues of these documents. The parties agreed that making the contracts’ validity clear is a vital matter for the bilateral relations. Discussing the validity of 426 contracts and agreements established between 1949 and 2012, the sides signed a protocol of this meeting, confirming the agendas. The meeting was co-chaired by B.Mandakhbileg, director of the Law and Treaty Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Guo Xiaomei, Counselor of the Department of Treaty and Law of PRC Foreign Ministry.
