Mongolia-Germany intergovernmental working group meets

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The second meeting of the Mongolia-Germany intergovernmental working group ran Wednesday in Ulaanbaatar. This group focuses on ensuring of and monitoring the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in mineral resources, industry and technological spheres between Mongolia and the Federal Republic of Germany. At the meeting, the sides shared information on past and ongoing measures taken to ensure the intergovernmental agreement, and discussed further goals and next steps to be done in frames of the cooperation. In addition, the representatives heard a report of the third meeting of the Mongolia-Germany economic committee of the private sector, which had touched upon some specific projects on producing fuel from coal, establishing a coke coal factory, exploring, extracting and processing rare minerals. Then the sides exchanged views on policy and opportunities to render the governments' support to the above proposals and initiatives. The two sides also inked an intergovernmental agreement on exempting the biometric diplomatic passport holders from the requirement of German visa. In addition, a joint statement on establishing the Mongolia-Germany Technological Institute was signed by Mongolia's Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Economic Development and Germany's Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. The meeting was co-chaired by Kh.Battulga, Mongolia’s Minister of Industry and Agriculture, and by Dr. Bernhard Heitzer, the State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
