Mongolia intends to establish Economic Partnership Agreement with Japan

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia is working to establish the Economic Partnership agreement with the government of Japan. Based on investments of the countries’ private sector, this agreement will focus on expanding of the Mongolia-Japan economic cooperation, forming legal environment and activating mutually-beneficial economic and investment relations. Between 1990 and 2012, some 530 Japanese companies made investments of USD 184 million to Mongolia, and it accounts for 1.6 percent of total investments made by foreign companies registered in Mongolia. Japan also has been ranked 11th place by the number of its investors. Some 48 percent of these investments has been made to commerce and public catering, 18 percent—to light industry, six percent—to IT and communication, 7.3 percent—to banking and financial sector, 2.7 per cent—to geology, mining, exploitation and explorations sectors, and 1.1 percent—to processing raw materials of animals.
