Mongolia might practice allowing Surviving Spouse's Pension

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On Thursday, Minister of Population Development and Social Welfare S.Erdene gave information on the current situation of his sphere and on the Surviving Spouse’s Pension bill and other draft laws. If adopted, the bill will facilitate the pensioners with a major life guarantee, he said. The bill’s main purpose is to diminish mental and economic risks, facing elderly people. Then, he said a majority of MPs had approved the bill on Rights of the Persons with Disabilities at the first reading. If adopted, the bill will lay down a legal basis to exercise the rights of over 110 thousand people, said the Minister. Next thing he said was about the affiliated Standing committee that had not backed a reading of the bill on adding the working years of livestock herders and allowing them pensions from the Social Insurance Fund. The bill would facilitate proper assessment of herders’ labor, he added.
