MONGOLIA-RUSSIA INTERGOVERNMENTAL SUB-COMMISSIONS MEETS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 11th meeting of the sub-commission for the regional and border cooperation at the intergovernmental commission of the trade, economy, sciences and technical cooperation ran Monday in Moscow, Russia, August 25. This meeting was held after three years it convened in Ulaanbaatar and took place prior to the Russian President's visit to Mongolia. It was co-chaired by Mr D.Gankhuyag, Mongolia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, and by Mr V.V.Kopylov, Russia’s Vice Minister of Regional Development, with a participation of Mr Sh.Altangerel, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Russia Federation; B.Shinebaatar, the State Secretary of the Mongolian Ministry of Economic Development; Kh.Zoljargal, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Agriculture; Mr L.Ganbold, the Consulate-General of Mongolia to Kyzyl. At the meeting, the sides reached agreements to refine a legal environment of the bilateral border and regional collaboration by accelerating a process of establishing a protocol on amending the intergovernmental agreement about crossing Mongolia-Russia border and border checkpoints in easier ways. They also discussed an issue of establishing a protocol on mutually facilitating the customs checking and mutually recognizing the results of customs inspection done over some kinds of products. They concurred to sign a plan of measures and an intergovernmental agreement in the nearest future for intensifying the commercial and economic cooperation as well as the regional and border collaboration. Moreover, the two considered issues of studying a chance of augmenting Mongolia’s export of meat and meat products to Russia and of annually organizing the sub-commission’s meeting.
