MONGOLIA SIGNS AIR COMMUNICATION AGREEMENTS WITH MYANMAR AND CAMBODIA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia has signed agreements on air communication with the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Kingdom of Cambodia. The agreements were assigned on the sidelines of the 4th ASEM Transport Ministers’ Meeting which took place on September 26-28 in Indonesia. The Acting Minister met with Thant Sin Maung, Minister of Transport of Communications of Myanmar and expressed satisfaction at the development of bilateral relationship. The Agreement on Air Communication comes after the signing of Mutual Agreement on Visa Exemption for Diplomatic and Official Passport Holders in 2013 and Agreement on Cooperation in Tourism in 2015. Moreover, Acting Minister D.Ganbat signed the Agreement on Air Communication alongside Mao Havannal, Cambodia’s Secretary of State for Civil Aviation. Bilateral relations have been developing between Mongolia and Cambodia since the establishment of Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in 1981. The Acting Minister expressed confidence the agreement will contribute to advancing Mongolia’s cooperation with the two countries. By the invitation of Budi Karya Sumadi, Indonesian Minister for Transportation, Acting Minister of Road and Transport Development D.Ganbat attended the meeting themed ‘Bridging Asia-Europe through Integrated Transport connectivity’, looking over transport sector actions in ASEM member nations, introducing Mongolia’s policy and measures in transport sector and exchanging views on improving transport connectivity in the region.
