MONGOLIAN AND S.KOREAN SCHOLARS GATHER IN SEOUL

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A group of the Scientific Institute at Mongolia’s Ministry of Defense has taken part in a joint scientific forum in Seoul, South Korea. The news was published Tuesday on the Defense Ministry’s website. Our group had Colonel Ts.Demchigsuren, a deputy director and scholar-secretary of the Scientific Institute; Ts.Dashzeveg, a scientific worker at the institute on military arts; Senior-Lieutenant T.Sukhbaatar, a scientific worker on security, defense and policy studies; and Lieutenant D.Monkh-Onor. At the scientific conference, which consisted of three parts, the Mongolian representatives delivered reports on the security in Northeast Asia, its environment, a crisis of Korean peninsula, Mongolia’s role in it and other proposals and initiatives. Other reports--“US position over Korean peninsula”, “Roles of neighbour countries in ensuring peace in Korean peninsula” and “Scientific cooperation in the defense field between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea” were given by S.Korean researchers. The two sides emphasized that this year’s scientific forum was special, and then reached an agreement to broaden the forum to make it more effective. The Mongolians also legged the S.Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), S.Korea Institute for Defense Analyses (KIDA) and the S.Korea Defense Industry.
