Mongolian leader meets his German counterpart

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ With a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, the President of Mongolia Mr Ts.Elbegdorj Tuesday met with Mr Joachim Gauck, the President of Germany in the Bellevue Palace in Berlin. Mr Gauck expressed a satisfaction with meeting again with Mongolian President, appreciated Mongolia’s path toward democracy, and hoped that the bilateral relations will deepen further. He also noted that our two countries can enrich the ties with economic cooperation content, and said the establishment of the Mongolia-Germany joint institute of technology has been a great achievement in the educational sector. In response, Mr Elbegdorj said he is also glad to see Mr Gauck again and expressed a hope that Mr Gauck will attend a ceremony for the 25th anniversary of the first democratic election of Mongolia which will be marked this July. "German President's visit to Mongolia will have a great importance in our bilateral relations and will strengthen the democratic values in Asian region". In frames of a national programme on developing Mongol studies, initiated by the Mongolian President, the cooperation between German and Mongolian universities and institutes have been boosting, Mr Gauck said and expressed a willingness to make this cooperation closer. He also thankfully received the invitation to Mongolia. Present at the meeting were also L.Purevsuren, Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs; D.Oyunkhorol, the Minister of Environment, Green Development and Tourism; N.Tomorkhuu, the Minister of Road and Transportation; Mr Markus Ederer, an advisor to Germany’s President on foreign policy; other officials.
