MONGOLIANS CONSULT WITH REPS OF NWS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A delegation of Mongolia held a meeting on Wednesday with representatives of the Nuclear Weapon States (NWS) who are taking part in works of the First Committee of the UN General Assembly on Disarmament and International Security Committee. Mongolia and the NWS exchanged views on a content of a resolution to be issued by the General Assembly regarding the Mongolia’s nuclear weapon-free status, therefore the parties concurred to consult a matter on adding an amendment to the GA resolution in accordance with the NWS joint declaration of 2012 on the nuclear weapon-free status of Mongolia. Mongolia has put forward a proposal to reflect the declaration’s concept in the UN’s resolution.
