Moscow Not Influenced By Any Country Over Tehran Ties: Russian Ambassador

Tehran, Feb 9, IRNA – Russian ambassador to Iran Levan Jagarian said Saturday his country will never be influenced by any country in expansion of relations with Tehran. He made the remarks speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a meeting with head of Iranˈs Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Ariculture, Gholamhossein Shafei. Jagarian called for Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission to convene as soon as possible. ˈWe asked the Iranian side to convene the joint economic commission in February and are waiting for Iranˈs response,ˈ Jagarian said. Putting the current trade between the two countries at $1 billion a year, he said the figure is not satisfactory and Russia will do every effort to remove the obstacles on the way of bilateral trade. The Russian ambassador called for provincial cooperation particularly between the Caspian Sea littoral provinces to boost economic ties between Iran and Russia. Iran and Russia are mulling a deal to boost monthly trade to dlrs 1.5 billion. Russia is willing to buy 500,000 bpd crude oil from Iran and export goods to Iran./end
