Moscow satisfied with "year of Russia" in BRICS - Deputy Foreign Minister

MOSCOW, February 8. /TASS/. Moscow is satisfied with Russia’s presidency in BRCIS, the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told TASS in an interview, adding that a final report on Russia’s presidency is being prepared now and will be published shortly. "All in all we’re satisfied with "the year of Russia" in BRICS, not only due to achieved agreements and practical effects, but first of all because the association has once again demonstrated its feasibility and relevance," Deputy Minister said. According to Ryabkov, BRICS has no anti-western focus. "BRICS has not the "anti" element but always "pro", not "contra", this not being a geopolitical counterbalance to anything or anyone, and all participants of the union share this approach," he said. "Each presidency cycle supplements BRICS, underpins it so that the building is further constructed," he said, adding that "the association is a multiplier of national interest when the countries are well aware of what they want to achieve through this cooperation as teamwork raises the prospect of successful implementation of ideas."
