Moscow says North Korea’s rocket launch ‘unacceptable’

SOCHI, February 8. /TASS/. Russia considers that North Korea’s launch of a satellite-carrying rocket is unacceptable and comes in violation of the international law, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday. Peskov told reporters Moscow’s stance on the launch was announced in the recent Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement. "It was also shown unambiguously with full unity at the (UN) Security Council that this launch violating the respective rules of the international law is unacceptable." Commenting on Seoul’s statements that the components of the launched rocket allegedly came from Russia, the Kremlin spokesman said "this is more a technological issue." North Korea’s rocket carrying the Kwangmyongsong-4 (Bright Star) satellite blasted off from the western Sohae Space Center in Cholsan County on Sunday. North Korea’s KCNA state news agency reported the satellite was successfully put into orbit. Read more
