Moscow-Tehran ties vital in reinforcing regional stability: Expert

Moscow, Nov 11, IRNA - A former Soviet Union diplomat said on Tuesday that expansion of Moscow-Tehran ties could play a pivotal role in reinforcing stability in the region. Talking to IRNA, Mikhail Gusev said Iran and Russia are cooperating in establishing security and stability in the Middle East. Gusev added that both countries behave responsibly and avoid any action that would jeopardize the stability of other nations. The Middle East today is in dire need of Russia and Iran's measures to establish peace in the region, he said. The two countries could play a useful role in dealing with challenges such as terrorism and extremism in the region, the Russian expert said./end
