MP: Geneva accord encouraged cooperation between Iran, regional states

Tehran, Dec 31, IRNA – Spokesman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said on Tuesday that Geneva accord signed on ovember 24, 2013 opened a new chapter for cooperation between Iran and the regional states. Speaking to IRNA, Hosseini quoted Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif as saying in his statement to the parliamentary commission that the inteim Geneva accord left major impact on Iranian relations with the regional governments and created a new atmosphere for cooperation. Hosseini said that Zarif added in his remarks that nature of talks and the gap led to prolongation of the nuclear talks. Zarif forwarded a letter to foreign ministers of the United Nations member states except for Israel to rally support of the international community against the unlawful sanctions imposed by the western governments on Iran. Zarif said in his letter that the sanctions are blatant violation of the International Law and the humanitarian principles./end
