MP: Iran Attained Major Progress In Past Three Decades

Tehran, Jan 21, IRNA – Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Monday that Islamic Revolution of Iran has attained major progress in the past three decades in various fields. In a meeting with Mexican Senate chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Commission, Gabriela Cuevas Barron in Tehran, Boroujerdi said that advances have been made relying on indigenized know-how thanks to the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei despite restrictions imposed by the western governments. He called for expansion of Iran-Mexico relations in all domains, especially in the parliamentary sphere. He noted that Iran Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission welcomes expansion of Iran-Mexico relations in different domains. He referred to escalation of terrorism in the region and said, ˈThe Islamic Republic of Iran is a major victim of terrorism in the world and has thus far a large number of its people and officials lost their lives by the sinister and inhumane phenomenon, whereas the agents of the terrorism attacks are supported by the US and some European states,ˈ he added. Referring to Iranian campaign against drug trafficking, Boroujerdi said the Islamic Republic of Iran is serious in campaign against illicit drugs and is ready for cooperation and exchange of experience with Mexico in campaign against terrorism and drug-trafficking. He added that thanks to the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution and officials of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic, the country has been able to gain major progress in various fields after triumph of Islamic Revolution. He criticized the western governments for violation of human rights of Iranian nation by imposing arbitrary sanctions on Iran. Boroujerdi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is relying on the indigenized knowledge and is ready to cooperate with Mexico in the fields. He said Iran and Mexico have abundant capacity for expansion of bilateral ties, which can be used to upgrade economic, trade, scientific and cultural relations. Ms Barron said that exchange of parliamentary delegations will be effective to expand economic cooperation. She called for regular consultations and cooperation in the scientific and educational fields and joint campaign against terrorism and drug-trafficking./end
