MP: Many Opportunities In Iran-Cyprus Relations

Tehran, May 21, IRNA – Head of Iran parliamentary friendship group with Cyprus said that positive background of historical relations between Iran and Cyprus have created many opportunities for consolidating mutual ties. According to the report of Majlis News Agency, head of Iranˈs parliamentary friendship group Moayad Hosseini Sadr met with Cypriot new ambassador to Tehran Andreas Kouzoupis here on Tuesday. Hosseini Sadr, by referring to importance of development and expansion of ties in different political, economic and cultural fields said that there are many opportunities for strengthening and consolidating mutual ties. The MP continued that expansion of parliamentary communication between the two countries can play an effective role in development of bilateral relations. He added that negotiation between Group 5+1 with Iran is a suitable opportunity for recovery of ties between member countries of European Union with Iran. The MP said that visits of the senior political and parliamentary officials of the two countries cause more acquaintance of industrial and technical abilities of the two countries. He invited head of Cyprus parliament friendship group with Iran to pay a visit to Tehran. Andreas Kouzoupis, for his part, expressed pleasure with beginning his mission in Tehran and said that development of ties between Cyprus and Iran is his main goal. He also underlined expansion of joint cooperation between the two countries in international meetings./end
