MP Predicts Fierce Diplomatic Battle In N-talks To Vindicate Iran's Rights

Tehran, March 17, IRNA –- Fierce diplomatic battle will get underway in nuclear talks in Vienna between the Iranian negotiators and the westerners to vindicate the Iranian rights enshrined by Non-Proliferation Treaty, the head of Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Monday. In an interview with IRNA, Boroujerdi said that Iran will not give up its right to peaceful use of nuclear energy, “The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to defend its right to peaceful use of nuclear energy during upcoming talks with the G5+1 including US, China, Russia, France and UK plus Germany.” The senior MP underscored that Tehran aims to develop its economic relations with the international community by convincing the world of the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities. “The sanctions imposed on Iran run counter to international law and based on alleged reports provided by enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran including the United States.” Iran’s nuclear negotiating team led by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Tehran for Vienna on Monday to discuss nuclear issue with G5+1. Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany are scheduled to hold the next round of nuclear talks tomorrow. The negotiations are aimed at reaching a comprehensive accord on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program after both sides clinched a landmark interim deal last November./end
