MPS RECEIVE DELEGATION FROM LAOS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Head of the Parliament Standing committee on state structure A.Bakei MP and the Secretary-General of the State Great Khural Secretariet B.Boldbaatar received Friday a visiting delegation from Laos, led by Xaysi Santivong, the Minister of Home Affairs, a member of Central committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the deputy chairman of central committee on educated cadres. A.Bakei said Mongolia and Laos have long-time friendly relations, and that the inter-parliamentary relations have been intensifying in recent years. The two countries have long history of relations, noted Boldbaatar and underlined an importance of relations between parliaments' secretariats and the main state bodies in charge of state services. He said the spring session of our parliament had concluded. "The State Great Khural has approved the changes in the State Service Law," he added and mentioned that a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation was signed by the two parliament secretariats during the visit of the Secretary-General of the Office of the Lao National Assembly to Mongolia last year. Mr Santivong expressed a gratitude for the warm welcome and an appreciation for the opportunity to get au fait with Mongolian legislature. He is also glad that their visit coincides with Naadam. He highlighted an importance of expanding the long-time friendly relations, particularly the exchange of parliamentary best practices and public diplomacy.
