MPs Urge Gov't To Develop Fuel Enrichment Technology

Tehran, Dec 30, IRNA – A member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mohammad Hassan Asafari said on Sunday that some 200 Majlis representatives signed a petition to urge the government to develop fuel enrichment technology to the level of 60 percent. He told IRNA that some 200 Majlis representatives have signed the petition to urge the government to augment level of fuel enrichment to 60 percent. The MPs centered logic of their demand on the current competition among the fuel producing nations and say they believe that higher fuel enrichment will bring superiority for the nation. They said that they believe that modern economic development is dependent on diversity in generation of energy and access to renewable energies. They say that enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran brought unfounded allegations against Iran in a bid to impose sanctions to prevent the Iranian youth from success and economic development. The MPs say that they think Iran needs to produce 60 percent fuel for vessels and submarine. The MPs said in the meantime that they are followers of the Supreme Leader who banned producing or stockpiling nuclear bomb and that their demand has nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction renouncing such weapons./end
