The committee head added that Armenia’s policy against Azerbaijan shouldn’t only be regarded as an aggression of a CoE member to another one but also against the whole democratic European values, universal principles and as a serious threat to the peace and security. “One of the main conditions for intercultural dialogue is to solve the conflicts caused by ethnic separatism and religious radicalism, and sustaining peace and security in the region and world.” He added that the people of various ethnic and religious backgrounds live peacefully in Azerbaijan where the vast majority is Muslims. “All the nations and members of different religious communities have lived peacefully in Azerbaijan for ages. The Azerbaijani nation’s unique cultural and moral values have played an immense role in this peaceful ambiance for centuries. We are so happy that now when Azerbaijan has regained its independence these values are strengthening more and more,” Mubariz Gurbanli emphaszied.
