Muslim world waiting for Obama to fulfill his promises: Iran

TEHRAN,Nov.10(MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Wednesday that the Muslim world including people in the Middle East region are waiting for U.S. President Barack Obama to live up to his promises. Commenting on that fact that Obama was reelected in the presidential election that was held on November 6, Mehmanparast stated, “People in the Muslim world and the Middle East are still awaiting the fulfillment of U.S. president’s promises and believe that the adoption of a new attitude of non-interference in the affairs of regional countries can help restore part of the lost reputation of the United States among regional countries.” He added that the U.S. government should refrain from adopting extremist policies, revise its wrong policies, and pay due attention to its own people. Elsewhere in his remarks, Mehmanparast commented on relations between Tehran and Washington and said that Iran’s distrust in the United States can be decreased if Washington respects the rights of the Iranian people and fundamentally revises its wrong policies.
