Muslims should be vigilant about plot to sow discord: Supreme Leader

TEHRAN,Sept.25(MNA) - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called on the world’s Muslims to remain vigilant about the dangerous plot of the hegemonistic powers to sow discord among them. The Leader made the remarks during a meeting with a number of hajj officials in Tehran on Monday in reference to an anti-Islam movie produced in the United States that has sparked widespread protests across the Muslim world. The film, which insults Prophet Muhammad (S), was produced in California, cost $5 million, and was financed with the help of more than 100 Jewish donors. Ayatollah Khamenei stated, “The stance that Western politicians adopted toward this great insult was not different than… hostility.” He added, “The issue of the insult to the Prophet (S) and the stance that the leaders of the hegemonistic bloc adopted revealed their true image and the pivot point of the conflict between the fronts of truth and falsehood.” The hegemonistic powers have problems with the very foundation of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (S), Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding, “The enemies of the religion and the hegemons must be aware that the Islamic ummah, despite the existence of different denominations and certain theoretical and ideological differences, is united against them.” He also noted, “The enemies should not be allowed to save themselves from the anger of the Islamic ummah through the plot of creating discord.” The Leader went on to say that the massive protests staged by Muslims across the world illustrated their great potential. And the hajj pilgrimage provides a good opportunity for the Muslims to express their hatred toward the hegemonistic bloc, he added.
