Myanmar president to attend regional meeting in Thailand

BANGKOK, June 12 (TNA) – Myanmar President, U Win Myint will pay an official visit to Thailand from June 14-16 to attend the 8th Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit in Bangkok.

Myanmar president is scheduled to meet Thai Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha at Government House on June 14 and will attend the ACMECS summit on June 15-16.

His official visit to Thailand is his first visit under the bilateral framework to strengthen ties between the two countries since he took office in March 2018. This year also marks the 70th anniversary of Thai-Myanmar diplomatic ties.

It will be a good opportunity for the two sides to develop natural strategic partnership to achieve tangible results. (TNA)
