N-talks Can Be Turning Point In Mutual Confidence-building: Rezaei

Tehran, February 24, IRNA -- Secretary of Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei hoped that new round of nuclear talks between Iran and G5+1 would be a turning point for building reciprocal confidence and setting a strong foundation for future ties with western states. In a meeting with Australian Ambassador in Tehran Paul Foley, Rezaei underlined Iran’s seriousness in negotiations with the West, saying Tehran had goodwill in all stages of negotiations. Expressing optimism about the future of Iran-G5+1 negotiations, he said that sanctions not only made the Iranian nation stronger but also prompted the westerners to reach the conclusion that continuing pressures against Iran is futile. “We favor peaceful life in the region, booming economy and maintaining national honors,” he said, noting that the Iranian nation with valuable experience in tolerating sanctions is seeking to improve its economy. Referring to good ties between the two countries and role of ambassadors in promoting commercial and economic ties, Rezaei further noted that Iran is ready for further development of ties in line with mutual interests. Given the two countriesˈ commercial commonalities, Iran is prepared for reciprocal investment, he said. The Australian envoy, for his part, commented on the latest situation of the two countries’ ties in the fields of agriculture, oil and gas, saying that he will do his best to further promote bilateral ties and solve outstanding issues./end
