National security database to be prepared: Deputy PM

BANGKOK, September 17 (TNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister/Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon ordered Anusit Kunakorn, secretary-general of the National Security Council, to form sub-committees to develop a national security information mechanisms equipped with alerts system. The new system would integrate security-related information of different organisations so that all concerned agencies could use it, for example, to work out national strategies, Gen Prawit said. "I assigned the secretary-general of the National Security Council to form sub-committees to speed up the task. All information will be useful to authorities," Gen Prawit said. NSC chief Anusit said information networks had been built but data had yet to be integrated for convenient use by the government sector. The new system will include alert functions and cover financial and social data, information about disasters, and the profiles, identities and fingerprints of people to monitor inbound and outbound travelers, he said.
