National Symposium Held

Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- A national symposium of different sectors took place at Kim Chaek University of Technology on Sept. 20 and 21 to mark the 70th anniversary of the university. Attending it were Choe Tong Myong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Thae Hyong Chol, president of Kim Il Sung University and concurrently minister of Higher Education, Hong So Hon, president of Kim Chaek University of Technology, officials concerned and others. The participants in the symposium, divided into 30 panels, heard more than 1 000 papers on social and natural sciences presented by 70-odd educational institutions and scientific institutes including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, University of Sciences, Hamhung University of Chemical Engineering and geological mechanical engineering institutes of the State Academy of Sciences. At the symposiums of social science panels, speakers explained and proved the originality, validity and vitality of the ideas and theories of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and their revolutionary feats. Introduced at the symposiums of natural science panels were lots of papers solving the theoretical and practical problems arising in putting the national economy on a Juche, modern, IT and scientific basis. -0-
