NAT'L PROGRAMME ON REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH APPROVED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting on Wednesday, the cabinet approved the 4th national programme on reproductive health. The previous one was implemented in 2007-2011, thanks to which Mongolia has been ranked at a middle level by the world's maternal mortality rate. The mortalities of mothers and infants have been decreasing natinwide, but the city and localities still have differences in these rates. The distribution of reproductive assistance and aid to women and youths of the vulnerable group and to the disabled is still low due to the internal migration, administrative registration failure, centralization of urban areas, lack of unified information system and registration, population growth, poverty, and uncontrolled extraction of mineral resources. The 4th national programme of reproductive health will be realized in 2012-2016. B.Khuder
