NATO Oil Tanker Torched In SW Pakistan

Islamabad, Nov 27, IRNA – Unidentified gunmen in southern Pakistan torched an oil tanker, carrying oil for US-led NATO forces in neighboring Afghanistan on Wednesday, police and witnesses said. The attack occurred in Balochistan province. The tanker was heading to Afghanistan from the port city of Karachi when it came under attack. Levies sources said that no one war hurt in the attack while the miscreants escaped the scene. No group claimed responsibility. Militant groups are blamed for attacks on NATO trucks. Hundreds of tankers and trucks daily cross into Afghanistan from Pakistan to carry oil and other items for some 150,000 US-led NATO forces there. Pakistan is the shortest supply route to Afghanistan and officials say that around 70 percent items are supplied to NATO forces via Pakistan./end
