Naval Forces Safeguard Iran Interests In Southern Waters

Bandar Abbas, Hormuzgan Prov, Oct 28, IRNA – Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said that the naval forces definitely safeguard the country's national interests and resources in the Persian Gulf, Hormuz Strait and Sea of Oman. The commander made the remarks here on Saturday evening while addressing a ceremony to hail a number of Navy personnel and commanders. He reiterated that the Navy will undoubtedly defend the Iranian territorial integrity against the expansionist policies of the bullying powers. On the naval achievements, Sayyari said the presence of 22 Iranian flotilla in international operations indicated the Islamic Republic of Iran's might and power. The ceremony was also attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who awarded a plaque of merit to the Navy commander./end
