Navy Commander: Navy To Go Beyond Mediterranean Sea Soon

Tehran, June 25, IRNA -- Navy commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on Sunday Iranian Navy will go beyond the Mediterranean Sea soon. He made the remarks in a ceremony commemorating the Navy's war veterans in Tehran. “Iranian Navy is currently operating in the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea to maintain security. the Navy forces will go beyond the Mediterranean Sea,” Sayyari said. He said that the Navy has a brilliant record of defense it set during the eight-year Iraqi-imposed war 1980-1988 and many other operations to safeguard national sea borders which all prove Iran’s authority in open seas./end
