Negotiation, Sole Solution To Syria Crisis: Iran Envoy

Beirut, May 27, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi described negotiation as a sole way to settle the Syrian crisis. Roknabadi made the remarks in a meeting with ex-Lebanon president Emile Lahoud. He congratulated the anniversary of resistance and liberation of Lebanon from the Zionist occupation. Referring to Iranˈs great efforts to help settle the Syrian crisis, he said Tehranˈs six-point proposal on resolution of the Syria unrest and holding Syriaˈs National Dialogue meetings in Tehran and Damascus are among the Islamic Republicˈs initiatives to resolve the ongoing crisis in the friendly country Syria. He reiterated that the international meeting of ˈFriends of Syriaˈ will be held in Tehran in near future. Lahoud, for his part, praised Resistanceˈ achievements against the Zionist regime, stressing that Iran and Syria have played key roles in achieving victories and are considered as the main supporters of the resistance movement./end
