NEMA RECEIVES WB REPRESENTATIVE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) Chief T.Dulamdorj Monday received Ms Coralie Gevers, World Bank (WB) Country Manager for Mongolia, in connection with latter’s returning home. At the meeting, colonel T.Dulamdorj highlighted successfully implemented joint projects on avian and human influenza control, preparedness and response that have taken place amid Ms Gevers’ office in Mongolia. The “Avian and Human Influenza Control, Preparedness and Response Project” strengthened the capacity of Mongolia’s emergency departments, public health system and veterinary services to detect and respond to potential outbreaks of infectious diseases such as an avian and human pandemic influenza. The sides have also begun a project aimed at capacity building for reduced disaster risks.
