Netherlands Fully Supports Geneva Nuclear Agreement

Berlin, Dec 4, IRNA – The Netherlands Foreign Minister, by underlining full support of his country for Geneva nuclear agreement, said that Amsterdam will play its positive share in execution of the agreement in the European Union. Deputy Foreign Minister in Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi, who is in the Hague to attend the 18th annual conference of member states of Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), met with Dutch Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans and discussed bilateral ties as well as regional and international issues. In the meeting, Timmermans, by referring to historical background of bilateral ties between Iran and the Netherlands, said that his country is interested to expand ties and interactions with Iran. Concerning Syrian crisis and diplomatic and political efforts to end it, Timmermans underlined necessity of Iran's presence in the Geneva Conference. Araqchi, by explaining Geneva negotiations and the achieved agreement, said that dialog is the sole effective instrument to settle international problems. He underlined that Geneva talks were held by win-win approach, so Iran's nuclear right, including enrichment program were recognized and Iran is also to take confidence-building measures. Araqchi is heading Iranian delegation in the 18th annual conference of member states of OPCW, which started its 5-day work on Monday December 2, 2013 in the Hague./end
