New IRNA Chief Appointed

Tehran, Sept 17, IRNA – Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati appointed Mohammad Khoddadi as the new managing director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA). Khoddadi is to take charge of the news agency as of Tuesday. He is replacing Majid Omidi Shahraki. Khoddadi has a long history of presence in news and media-related activities including in IRNA. He has had numerous posts in IRNA like a reporter in economic desk, head of IRNA office in New Delhi, director general of IRNA international department and manager director of Iran Daily English newspaper affiliated to IRNA./end
