New ministerial meeting between Russia, China, India to take place in nearest future - Lavrov

MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. The next ministerial meeting in the Russia-India-China (RIC) format will take place in the nearest future, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday at the Russian Diplomatic Academy. "Our country has for centuries played a balancing role in European and world affairs," Lavrov said. "Current historical developments are bringing Russia to key positions in the process of forming new architecture of international relations. We have many supporters here - the vast majority of countries, including, first of all, our partners in EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union), CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization), CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa), SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization)," he added. "I want to particularly note out multifaceted strategic cooperation with China which has reached the highest level over the whole history of our bilateral relations," Lavrov said. The RIC format is also in demand, he added. "Even when BRICS was set up, RIC continued to work. Another ministerial meeting of Russia, India and China will take place in our country in the nearest future," he concluded. Read more
