New UNICEF Representative hails Azerbaijan children`s policy

Baku, September 17 (AzerTAc). New representative for the United Nations Children`s Fund (UNICEF) in Azerbaijan Andro Shilkadze has praised the country`s policy towards children. In a meeting with chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children`s Affairs Hijran Huseynova, he stressed the necessity of deepening the bilateral cooperation with the Azerbaijani government. Ms. Huseynova said the protection of children`s rights and settlement of their problems was among key government priorities. She lauded the role of Azerbaijan`s First Lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in ensuring favorable conditions for strengthening the protection of children`s rights and providing them with quality education. Ms. Huseynova said Azerbaijan maintained close partnership with a number of international organizations, including UNICEF. “This cooperation gives a push to the implementation of important projects aimed at ensuring the development of children.”
