Next round of Russia-Arab League dialogue to be held in Moscow in early 2016 - Lavrov

MOSCOW, December 16. /TASS/. The next ministerial meeting in the Russia-Arab League format will be held in Moscow in early 2016, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday. "Our contacts with Bahrain, in addition to the bilateral dimension, are an integral part of the strategic dialogue between Russia and the Gulf Cooperation Council," he said. "The mechanism of our strategic cooperation suggests regular meetings at the ministerial level. Three such ministerial rounds have been held, we invited the next, fourth round to Russia and are pleased that our friends in Bahrain support this approach." "Just like with the Gulf Cooperation Council, we have the Russia-Arab League strategic dialogue mechanism. Another ministerial round of the Russia-Arab League dialogue is scheduled for early 2016 in Moscow," the minister said. "We discussed various aspects, first and foremost, what is to be done to rise to the occasion." Lavrov added that such ramified mechanisms of cooperation between Russia and the countries in the region helped to comprehensively and openly consider all key issues and conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa.
