Next round of Russian-Japanese talks at ministerial level to be held in February, says Abe

MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/. Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Cono and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold the next round of negotiations in February of this year, most likely in Munich during the international security conference, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe stated on the outcomes of the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. "President Putin and I welcome the fact that last week, concrete negotiations between the foreign ministers have started in accordance with our agreement with the president to speed up the negotiation process on the peace treaty based on the [Soviet-Japanese] Joint Declaration of 1956. We instructed our ministers to hold the next round of talks in February of this year, for example, during the Munich Security Conference," the Japanese PM said. Read more
