NGL 3100 Project To Provide Feedstock For Dehloran Petrochemical Complex

Ilam, Sept 9, IRNA - One of the objectives behind operation of NGL 3100 refinery is to provide feedstock for Dehloran Petrochemical Complex in western Iran, said Governor of Dehloran Omid Ali Sabzi while inspecting the refinery on Tuesday. Addressing managers and contractors of the project, Ali Sabzi said: “The refinery is operating with an aim of gathering gases associated with crude oil produced in Dehloran fields and saving 270 million cubic feet of gas and, above all, providing feedstock for Dehloral Petrochemical Complex.” He said construction operation for this industrial project started in the calendar year 1390 (March 2011 – March 2012) in an area of 110 hectares of land in “Cheshmeh Khosh” region, adding that implementation of the project is highly vital for preventing wastage of gas and providing feeding for the petrochemical complex and creating job opportunities in the region. He emphasized acceleration of construction operations in oil and gas projects in the city and said Dehloran enjoyed unique capacities in oil, gas and petrochemical fields which should be organized for optimal utilization. The border city of Dehloran is situated 228 km from Ilam and is among major oil rich areas in the country with a production capacity of 180 thousand barrels of oil per day. More than 90% of oil and gas of western parts of the country is produced in this region. Ilam Province possesses 11% of oil and gas reserves of the country and optimal use of these reserves could play a determining role in the development of the province as well as in creating job opportunities. No huge investment has been made in this province in the course of the war imposed by Iraq on Iran (1980-88) and its subsequent years under the pretext of insecurity and absence of development infrastructures. Ilam province by possessing 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 17 billion barrels of oil reserves enjoys unprecedented capacities to such an extent that all-out efforts are needed to increase oil and gas output in the light of presence of local efficient experts./end
