NGOs will help boost Tehran-Rome ties: Italian envoy

Tehran, Nov 19, IRNA – Italian Ambassador to Iran Mauro Conchatori said on Saturday that using capacities of non-governmental organizations will help promote bilateral ties and cultural interactions. He made the remarks in a meeting with the head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Abuzar Ebrahimi-Torkman. Expressing pleasure with the record of excellent ties between the two countries, he underlined the growing trend of cooperation. The envoy stressed the need for creating Tehran-Rome communicative bridge to help promote cultural activities between the two countries. Italy will take part in the next year's Tehran International Book Fair as the special guest, he said, describing the event as an opportunity for promoting cultural relations in future. He called on the Iranian artists to take part in the Italian exhibitions. Ebrahimi, for his part, said that his organization's International Center for Dialogue Among Religions is in charge of holding Iran's religious dialogues with followers of various faiths. A high-ranking delegation comprising Iranian noted religious scholars will visit Vatican to participate in the tenth round of dialogue between Islam and Christianity, he said. 1378/IRNA
