NLA supports new Thai government's policies

BANGKOK, September 13 (TNA) - Members of Thailand's National Legislative Assembly (NLA) have voiced support to the new government’s policies, covering 11 areas, as the new government of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha has pledged to transparently fulfill the policies within one-year. The support was voiced during the NLA session on Friday (Sept 12), in which General Prayuth presented his government’s policy statement. Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-Ngam told the NLA members that the government is determined to suppress corruption and it is prepared to amend law concerning procurements by state-run offices, reform the bureaucratic system to be more flexible and transparent. Deputy Prime Minister MR Pridiyathorn Devakula confirmed that there would be a national tax reform, with business and property tax rates to be increased and inheritance tax to be collected to reduce inequality in the Thai society. Meanwhile, the prime minister said during his weekly address on Friday night that he was relieved after reporting his administration's policies to the NLA and will start working next week. (TNA)
