No Agreement Yet On Joint Statement In Tripartite Meeting: Zarif

Geneva, Nov 10, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Saturday that although the tripartite meeting with his US counterpart John Kerry and EU Foreign Policy chief Catherine Ashton has ended, they have not agreed on a joint statement yet. Zarif who was speaking to reporters after the meeting, when asked whether the negotiations will continue tomorrow, said it was unlikely. “We have agreed on some issues and there are still differences on some other issues,” he said. He noted that as said in the media, there are some differences particularly among G5+1 member states. “We have made some progress, but it is not clear whether we can agree on a joint statement tonight,” the Iranian chief nuclear negotiator said. However, he said that there was some good progress in negotiations. The two sides are working on the contents to be included in the joint statement and they may not be able to finalize the statement as there are differences among G5+1 member states and the Iranian side too has concerns that have to be removed./end
