No Alliance Will Work In Region Without Iran's Partnership: Safavi

‎Tehran, May 22, IRNA – No alliance will work in the region in absence of partnership with Iran, advisor to the Supreme Leader Major-General Rahim Safavi said on Monday. Thank God the Islamic Republic of Iran has become major powerhouse in the region in terms of geopolitical and territorial situation, the official stated. Iran is separate from Iraq and Afghanistan, Safavi said, adding that “Iran is the heart of the region and is a key for success of any economic and political alliance,” He said that Iran has 2,000 km long coasts along the Persian Gulf and the Oman Sea, an area holding 63 percent of the global energy. “Any country which wants to buy energy from the region must come to terms with Iran,” Safavi said. He added that the nation is a major energy supplier and the world markets cannot overlook Iranian oil supplies. Elsewhere in his speech, Safavi said that ‏Iran has its own influence in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Afghanistan and in the Muslim World and is a deterrent military power something of which the enemies are aware. Iran has never adopted offensive strategy, rather, it has beefed up defense capability seeking sustainable peace and security in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East, he noted. Safavi added that the exodus of foreign troops will help establish peace and security in the region with partnership of the regional countries something which formed the backbone of Iranian foreign policy. Safavi said that the Satanic powers who helped Iraqi Saddam Hussein to invade Iran in 1980 have embarked on concerted action to pose economic threat. “With reliance upon Almighty God, the Iranian nation will thwart the economic threats posed by the western governments.”/end
